About Potter Aoyama Tetsuro
Born in Hirukawa Village, he received training under Kato Hitoshi in 1961. After gaining experience, he established himself as an independent potter in Toki in 1973. Three years later, he moved to the current area and established Yahabu Pottery. Over the years, he has won numerous awards at prestigious events such as the Nitten, the Japan New Craft Exhibition, the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition. He is a member of the Mino Ceramic Society and is known for creating exquisite tea ceremony ceramics, vases, and tableware using iron and ash glaze. His works are considered some of the greatest masterpieces of all time.
